The Canadian Recreational Yachting Association
offers a sailing program with an emphasis on excellence in the
safe handling and skillful use of a sail or power pleasure
craft.
The course workbooks are designed to act as a home study providing self assessments. This allows each student to study at their own pace prior to the completion of a full certification course. Added to this the student has a long term reference manual.
The shore section of the course is completed when the student has completed all the sections in the workbook/manual. This manual is then used as a reference for the practical on the water training with an instructor.
An Canadian Recreational Yachting Association log book provides a record of completed courses, both shore and practical. On completion of registration with Canadian Recreational Yachting Association for each standard, this log book with the registration seals provides proof of the students achievements and the ability for authorities, schools, charter boat companies and potential employees.
Manuals and log books can be purchased either from a
registered sailing school or the
Canadian Recreational Yachting Association.
